Important Facts about Water



  • Fresh water are stored is mostly found underground then on the surface of the earth.
  • United States uses around 346,000 million gallons of water each day.
  • 70 percent of an adult’s body is made up of water.
  • 75 percent of a tree is water.
  • When a person starts feeling thirsty, his or her body lost over 1 percent of its total water amount.
  • The weight a person loses after exercising is weight  from water, not fat.
  • About 1 billion people on earth do not have access to safe and clean drinking water.
  • More than five million people die from water related diseases every year, this is because they usually do not drink fresh and clean water.
  • Over 5,000 children die every day due to dirty water and poor hygiene.
  • 70 percent of the world’s resources are needed for food production.
  • Water related diseases kill one child every 15 seconds.
  • 80 percent of the world’s hospital beds are occupied by patients suffering from water borne diseases.
